Bill grew up with sport as his father was a Sports’ Journalist. Athletics, Football and Rugby Union were his early personal sporting passions. He keeps fit himself enjoying cycling, coastal walking and the gym.
During his undergraduate years he studied for a BSc in Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology. He has been involved in elite sport since 1981 and was elected one of the Foundation Fellows of the UK Faculty of Sports Medicine in 2006.
Bill has cared for and operated upon numerous medallists at various international competitions, including sportsmen and women winning a total of 28 Olympic medals and world champions from eight different sports.
