Head Injuries and Sport
2020 has seen Bill increasingly involved in the debate over head injuries and sport – especially rugby union. Bill joined Progressive Rugby at its inception. They are a group of individuals from many backgrounds – including medicine, surgery, sports scientists, education, ex-rugby players, officials, coaches, and administrators. We are passionate about rugby but want to ensure that everything is being done to minimise the long-term risks of brain damage in the sport. The group gave evidence to the House of Commons DCMS enquiry and Bill has been part of discussions with World Rugby, the RFU and WRU.
